I guess I will be trying to drain the water out of the hole, then do a glass patch over it. I really can't figure out why/how anyone could pop a hole in it though, weird. Fiber glass usually splinters when broken, the inside edges are smooth, almost like a grinding wheel was used on it. I'm probably going to drop the ride plate to see if there are any leaks from the mount holes.
I only had the motor running once when I purchased the ski. I am really unsure of check valve problems. If I have to, I'll just get a new check valve. I can check the one I have now as well. I have the whole ski gutted right now, the whole interior of the hull was covered with oil, sand, and various other nastiness.
The PO said he sank the ski when the drive shaft seal tore on him while he was running it. (Poor guy didn't know how to maintain it) It stalled out when he was running back to shore and couldn't get her running again... I think the ignition was grounding out from all the water.
VTS drains battery, fuel gauge not working, drive shave bearing fried, drive shaft shot, gray fuel lines, needs a carb rebuild, tons of other goodies to tweak and fix. I imagine I will probably end up rebuilding the motor before I finish restoring the ski. It's all good fun.
Thanks for the advice.
