Hi there i am new to owning a seadoo. i am very handy but i just bought a 1993 seadoo xp with the 657 and when i purchased it i did not notice a bunch of oil sitting under the motor. i cant seem to find where its coming from and its very hard to see down there because the dual carbs in the way. there is no gas in the oil and i dont think its the oil pump leaking. the previous owner said that most of the oil lines were replaced a year ago. but does anybody have any idea where this oil could be coming from? any info would be greatly appreciated :) .

Its prob the Rotory valve oil bath lines...pretty much impossible to see. Gonna have to get the hose clamps off blind, get oil all over the place, cut a 1/4" off the hoes, and reconnect...again blind.

It could also be from the bungs on the bottom of the oil tank, then dripping down the RV lines.

I’m also having a oil leak problem on my 94 gts and after taking the carb off for cleaning and a rebuild I was able to replace the oil pump inj.lines thinking this would solve the problem, but after further investigation with a trouble light and a mirror I found a bead of oil hanging on the lower intake manifold mounting bolts, and so I tightened everything up but the oil bead still kept forming so I think the gasket is bad and I’ll have to pull the engine to fix the problem.(which will wait till next fall)

Anyone? else have this problem

Nope...more than likely it is your RV shaft seal. It can be taken out w/o pulling the motor.

Kinda weird though...the big o-ring should be making all that oil go into the motor and not letting it leak out. Does she smoke real bad when you start it after it sits a few days?

not that I noticed, but I'll have to pay more attn. when I can put it in the water when it finally decides to warm up.Last summer was my first time with my jet ski purchase so I had a lot of work to do on them over the winter. But if I can fix the problem without pulling the motor that would be awsome, but on the other hand working on the engine out of the machine would be a whole heak of alot easier:cheers:

Probably slowly leaking by running down the outside of the oil line going to the crankcase from the oil tank. I would check the rubber grommet on the oil tank. Might also check the fitting that goes into the crankcase on that same line.

thanks but that has been all checked out and it's not leaking there it's on the underside of the intake manifold and not at the lower crankcase

i pulled the line off and cut it back and it still seems to be leaking from somewhere. do you think that it could be the rotary valve intake gasket or that metal fitting that goes into the crank case at the bottom? i think im going to remove the carbs to gain better access to the motor. thanks
