1993 sea doo xp engine question, please help :-(

Where can I check on my engine or find out if my 1993 Sea Doo XP is a 587 engine or a 657 engine and is this the info I give to a shop to order new piston and rings for my engine or what info do I provide, also is installing new piston and rings fairly simple to do or very complex. Appreciate your time and assistance please.

657 is your motor type

look at the front of your motor (not the side going to your jet pump) on top of the case is a small metal label it will say there/ Double check it says 657 or 657x. From factory your rig comes with a 657 but never know if someone swaped it out
