Just bought a used 1992 XP. Runs great but the tach and the fuel gauge do not work. There is power to the fuel guage because the oil warning light comes on. I assume that is on because the fuel oil container was disconnected and we just pre mix the fuel now. The power to the two guages is in series so I assume both are getting power.
I checked the fuzes in the MPED and both are fine. There was oil in the MPED. Not sure if that was supposed to be in there or it is a leak into the box.
The engine kill swith on the handle bar is also broken. Not sure if that has anything to do with the circuit.
