I have a 12 low light coming on intermittently. I checked the Voltage and the battery is 12.5V static and 12V running. That means it is the stater correct?

You need to rev the engine up to 4500 rpm and check the voltage.
Typically is is caused by a bad voltage regulator.

You might want to rule out a bad stator as well,..and it doesn't hurt to load test the battery.

It didn't move really. So bad regulator?
More than likely...yes, a bad voltage regulator......with ski running...you should see a pretty steady voltage at the battery of 13V+. The voltage regulator converts AC voltage (generated by the stator) to DC voltage and "trickle" charges the battery to keep the battery refreshed. You also want to check all your wiring and connections for any corrosion/water (a tiny bit will cause you fits) and check you fuses too. Electric gremlins are a real PITA to chase down.....o_O:confused:takes patience.

After diving in with a voltmeter, I confident the rectifier isn’t bad. I am fairly confident the stator is the culprit. Anyone switched one out? How hard of a job is it?
