After seeing my 2013 GTX sitting low in the water in our slip, I pulled it and took it home to drain. I installed a Sierra S1100 bilge pump yesterday which pumps out just as fast as my garden hose can pump in on high. My problem is that it calls for a 6amp fuse and I cannot find one. I had a 7.5amp so I put that in for now. Should I go with a 5amp to protect the wiring or stick with the
7.5? Read that a pump fuse should never be more than 150% of capacity which would be right around
6amps... Just don't want the unit blowing the smaller fuse prematurely? I also read somewhere that the 16gauge wire would take up to 7.4 amps before starting to fail?
I'm going to put in a whale superb 650 as a backup and then take it back to the water to try and figure out where the water got in.
