06 gtx revs but low speed

I am newbie. Just bought 06 gtx with brand new wear ring. First two days the thing was hauling at around 48 with 3 riders. Today, it can't get out of it's own way. If I feather the throttle, maybe I can get it to 30mph. One time, best I could get was 11 mph at full throttle! (I backed off right away)
Impeller looks clean.
Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

what you got for RPM's? Even with 3 riders you should be moving faster than that.

It revs up to 7700-7800. Two days ago I could've broke 50 mph with 3 riders no problem. Now it can't get out of it's own way.

check inside the intake grate, make sure nothing is jammed/wedged in thier.

Does it feel similar to a slipping clutch in a car? If so, your wear ring or impeller may be damaged. Sucking a few rocks durring your ride the other day could have done this. Take a peak in there and see how it looks.

Wear Ring, Carbon Ring ???

I hate to say it but it sounds like you damaged the wear ring. I'm not sure if the newer models have it but it also could be the carbon ring. The carbon ring is on the drive shaft, and sorta acts like a clutch.

Jwalts - you nailed it! I just extricated a bale of hay from my intake grate and now she flies faster than ever. Thanks so much for your quick reply. You saved my vacation and my sanity.
