Bought an 05 Seadoo RXT new in April 05. Had the 10 hour maint done when needed and have taken it back to the dealer ever since every year for service/oilchange and winterization/dewinterization. Never had a problem out of it until now. Has 46 hours on it. Only used it twice last year and it sat over winter with about 1/2 tank of gas. Got it back from being dewinterized and filled the tank the rest of the way with fresh premium gas. Had it out Memorial day weekend and it seemed to run OK but was lacking power. Couldn't get over about 50 mph. I attributed this to the bad gas mixed in there and figured no big deal. Purposely ran it until the low fuel alarm came on and then some. Filled it up today with a whole tank of fresh premium pump gas and even added half a bottle of octane boost. Figured power would be back to normal or I would at least notice some improvement. Wrong. Still 50mph top speed when it used to be 65+ no problem. A buddy just bought a 06 RXT and had it out the first time today. Left me in the dust and its running on the old gas from winter. He was maxing 8100-8200 RPM and I can barely squeeze out 6500. It seems to be running smooth and idles/accelerates Ok although maybe not like it should (been awhile since Ive ridden it.) Just can't get the RPM/speed it should. No codes/alarms /beeps or anything. The plugs were supposedly changed when dewinterized by the dealer and I find it hard to believe they fouled that quickly although that is the only thing I know of to check at this point. Any ideas? I'm fairly mechanically inclined but have limited experience with watercraft. Any help is greatly appreciated. Sorry for the length but i'm trying to give as much info as possible.

Just an update: I just read another thread on here about ceramic washers in the supercharger being a problem - kind of a scary thought at this point. It seems if I can spin the supercharger impeller freely then the washers may be bad? And could possibly take out the oil pump?!! :ack: I'm not liking the sound of this... I just went out to tinker with it and pulled the intake hose and that impeller sure seems to spin freely to me. I also read that dealers tend to overfill with oil... sure enough mine looks overfilled. I understand this can lower RPMs also. I did check it before going out the other weekend but had a hard time seeing it before. It seems also that the level should be halfway between the marks and not at the top mark like I thought. I just trusted the dealer... lesson learned. I don't trust dealers/shops with any other type of vehicle I own so I'm not sure why i did with this thing. I wonder if I should still swap the plugs out if I have some spares... probably be awhile before I can get it in the water again but i'd like to figure this out and hopefully get it fixed before then.

I hope the supercharger is not an issue seeing how it has so little hours and as far as I know has always ran Sea-doo NON-synthetic oil. Think I will try taking the oil level down and throwing in fresh plugs and see what happens before jumping to conclusons. Problem is I might not get to do this for a week or two and this thing has me worried - i hate not knowing. Sure wish someone had some input...

supercharger

Not familiar with the supercharger but i wouldn't think it would be the plugs since the engine is running smoothly... but its a cheap start and you never know... drain a little oil if you know how... ring your dealer and see what he says before going through the ceramic washer thingy. Yur supercharger may have some kind of blockage? Interested to find out the results let us all know how you are going with it.

Superchargers and junk

you blew the supercharger - Happened to me at 56 hours will run 50 - 55 and seems to sound okay just a bit suggish. It takes 90 Lbs of force to spin the Supercharger. If the clutch / washers are bad it will spin freely with your fingers. It costs about $1100 to have replaced. Interestingly enough the new ones that Seadoo ships don't have ceramics starting this year. My dealer told me the repalcement is not ceramic.

Oh boy. These symptoms sound exactly like my BRAND NEW 07 Wake 215. It has barely 20 hours on it and does almost exactly the same thing.

Most likely cause is the supercharger, I just had mine replaced on my 07 rxt, had 19 hours on it and the exact same symtoms. Warrenty covered all but the 50 dollar deductible.
