So I am new to watercraft but not to powersports in general. I have always worked on my own stuff and can get around dirt bikes, snowmobiles, pick up trucks, etc pretty well.
I bought this 05 RXT and love it. It had under 60 hours but was a little "rough around the edges" cosmetically. I had it out all day today and wow is it a blast.
Anyway, I had to start it up at the launch when I took it out due to ANS / zebra mussels and it made an interesting noise - like something was loose. There was a pretty decent rattle coming from under neath it. I got back to my campsite and climbed underneath to see what I could find. When I grab a hold of the "drive shaft" and move it, there is some play in it - not a ton - but some. It seems the play is where it connects to the impeller. I am pretty sure this is where the noise is coming from.
It ran like a million bucks all day. Is this a normal thing or am I in for some OJT learning as a tear in to this thing? I am planning to trailer it from Colorado to New York in about 2 weeks for our 2 week vacation on a lake so I'd like to know if it is solid before hauling it all the way back there - far from my shop where I can actually work on it.....
Thanks for any input you all may have.....
