When I got my doo it was missing the paddles on the wheel that measures speed. I was able to get another wheel but I still do not read speed. Any ideas???

This might be a stretch but the speedo function could possibly have to be reactivated by BUDS or similar software...

Did you replace the entire speedo sending unit?

Just the wheel. The teeth were snapped off so it looked like all i need to do was replace the wheel.

It is an option to turn on/off the vehicle speed sensor in BUDS on the MPEM but more likely you just need a new speed sensor. To test, you should measure the voltage between the purple/yellow and black wires while it is still connected and slowly turning the paddle wheel. The voltage should alternate between 8.5V and 5.5V with every 1/8 turn if it is working properly. Usually when they go dead you will get 0V all the time. The only hard part is removing one side of the terminal housing so you can access the metal on the terminals to measure while it is still connected but if you have a terminal tool remover this will make it easy. Some people just use a pin and push it through the coating of the wire which works fine also and most likely you will be replacing the speed sensor anyway so these wires will end up being removed.
