first of all i want to start by saying that i am new to forums and new to boats in general, so have mercy on me!!

i have an 04 sea doo sportster single engine. a few days ago i tried to take out for a spin and first it wouldn’t idle.. so I let it warm up with just enough power to stay on... after 5 or 10 mins i tried to go and the engine stalls when i start to apply power. at first i thought it was the air filter on the carb which was super dirty so i removed back at home and even had some oil inside which i dk if that’s normal but after i took it off the engine would start and idle out of the water and would rev up real nice so i cleaned the filter and tried to take it back to the water only to find out it would do the same thing.... i really dk anything about this boat so any help would be appreciated.

Welcome. We are always nice to new people.

OK... what Sportster do you have? In '04 there were a few, but neither of them had a carb.

So... 4-tech, or Di (2-stroke)

good im glad to hear that !! haha

i have a 2 stroke.

With the fuel injected boats, it becomes difficult to diagnose over the internet... but I would start with checking the fuel pressure. The fuel pumps on the Di engines don't live forever, and they are known to loose pressure as they start to fail.

Also, there is a fuel filter in the main feed line. It may be clogged.
