So my 04 seadoo gti with a 720 will intermittently die while cruising Starts right back up. It also will occasionally not have enough power to get up on plane. Compression is 150 on both cylinders. Total engine rebuild last winter. Brand new carb. This Saturday I took out on the lake. My son hopped on and took off no issues. He rode for 10-15 minutes. Came back to pick me up wouldn’t get out of the water. I took it out by myself was sluggish getting out of the water but got it up on plane. We both hopped on we took off while it was a little slow getting up on plane but we got there. Would randomly die while we were riding. Any ideas ?

Is your new carb set to factory mixture screw settings? Might be running rich and loading up causing your issues. Get up to cruising speed for a minute or so and then shut off the engine and coast to a stop. Pull the plugs quickly and see what color the tips are. Black/fouled is too much fuel or oil. White or clean looking is too lean, (will damage engine if run too long like that) light brown dusty looking color is ideal.

Plugs are brown

How would you describe it when it isn’t running well. Missing, rev limiter feeling, bogging, reving excessively, loading up? Just trying to narrow it down. Exhaust problems may be something to look out for. A leak can fill the haul with exhaust and kill the engine. Just ride with the seat off to test.
Battery/mpem/rectifier/coil issues can cause spark to be weak or die out. It will sound kinda like a rev limiter or mis at low speeds
