02 GTX DI won’t go past 25

I am looking at buying an 02 GTX DI with 125 hours on it. I know it’s likely close to rebuild time at 150 but the price is right so I’m considering it. The only problem is the owner says when he starts it it takes off up to 45 but if he hits a wave it cuts down to only 25mph at full throttle. Can anyone give some ideas as to what it could be?

That ski should do at least 55mph so something is wrong with it.

In my opinion you should never buy a DI (direct Injected) seadoo that doesn't run perfectly unless is is almost free.

The DI can ge really expensive and difficult to diagnose and fix.
