02 gtx di hull filling with water

02 gtx di 2 stroke started bogging down real bad put it on the trailer and pulled drain plugs and noticed a lot of water drainage so pulled seat off and inside hull had water all the way up to the motor mounts. It has opas system but one fin is off could it be leaking from that

Its highly likely that is the cause. You can always fill the hull with a bit of water while is in the trailer to double check

Off propulsion assisted steering I think is what it stands for. Let's u turn at low speeds without throttle input

I had to look it up too lol. I knew it existed but had no idea it was on skis that old.

I did discover in my brief search on it that it is a common spot for water to get into the hull. Seems that there are a few companies that make deletes for them due to this.

It could be the OPAS seal, or it could be a worn driveshaft carbon seal. Pull it close to shore and remove the seat. Check the carbon seal for leakage; also shine a flashlight towards the rear of the hull to see if water is leaking near the OPAS seals.

If that hose comes off the OPAS the feeds each rudder wing it will fill up the ski in a hurry. I had my first encounter with one last year. What a miserable set up. If I were an owner of a ski that used this system I'd get the delete kit for 2 reasons. Handling isn't very sporty with them in place and they can leak and allow water into the hull quickly. First thing I'd check is how the hoses are being held on to the blades or wings. If it is a ty wrap... I wouldn't take it on the water. Hose pops off.... you're done. Go Glug Glug.

I'll add a disclaimer... if the ladies are riding the ski or uncordinated menfolk.... leave the system in place and buy yourself a XP or RX. LOL

Will do thanks it's raining today but will check when it stops. Do I need to have the ski running to check for the leak?

Yea someone else suggested the delete kit too. Definitely gonna go that route instead of replacing the left fin. Guess I'm gonna do the rebuild can't find another ski for my budget

Anyway....OPAS might not be your problem. Hose might have come off the engine or exhaust. Could be your exhaust pipe system. Those water plug areas can leak pretty easy. PUt it on the hose and see what happens. Good Luck.

My money is on the exhaust system for the leak.
