01 xp 130 engine trouble HELP!!!!!!!

hey guys my 01 xp 130 is giving me a mission. whats happening is that the motor cranks but it doesnt start like if it wouldnt be getting spark or if the motor wouldnt be getting any gas. i bought it about a month ago and the guy said it had been sitting for about 4-5 months before i got it. but anyways has this happen to anybody else before im kinda new to this thing.. ideas and suggestions are very welcome...

pull plug, and check for spark. No spark, cut 1/4in off boot ends. Still no spark, pull wire from coil, hen kick oc=ver, if still no spark, then coil or stator is problem. If fires with wire removed, then switch is bad, or mpem...:cheers: of course, this sinerial, is after you've checked all connects and grounds and conditions of cables/wires...

I had the same issue with My 97 xp. there is a wiring harness that plugs in at the Magneto flywheel. check to make sure that the metal pins that fit into the harness are seated correctly. I had 2 wires that had slipped back just far enough not to make contact with the MPEM harness which kept the plugs from getting power.
