01 rx di wont start

Alright so im new to the seadoos i only mess with yamaha but i figured i would try to get this thing running since i got it for free the other day. So i got it home and put a battery in it and when i put the dess key in all it does is beep once and then A long beep. Also it says low oil. Could that be causing it to do that and not allowing it to turn over or what?

According to my DESS manual...the short beep followed by a long beep means the ski is beginning the ADVANCED SELF DIAGNOSTIC MODE.

What happens when you press the S/S button again? anymore beeps?

Sorry, lets start over:

1) remove DESS key
2) Press S/S 5 times (should hear 1 short and 1 long beep)
3) Install DESS key
4) Press S/S button again

What happens?

That is what my DI Skis do when the wrong lanyard is installed.

THAT is also a possibility......however...the DESS description in the manual does not start with a short beep.....it only says when installing the lanyard and a long beep is heard...could be wrong key.

The preceding short beep (as the OP indicated) is what is throwing me off the trail potentially. Who knows...they have not replied back.

Should've read the whole thing just focused on the long beep.

To the OP: Are you sure you have the long and short beeps you described above in the correct order?
If so, then the second beep refers to a component failure and the only component failure with one beep is the temp sensor or oil sensor that I know of.

I have one regular beep then it goes off and then it has one long beep im not at home roght this momment to try the reset.

It could be wrong key they guy handed me one and said if this ome dont work let me know i have a drawer full. Just didnt know what the beeps were for wrong key.
