Just purchased a 01 Seadoo RX with the 951...Low hr machine 50. Put new battery in it cranked the choke a couple of times and fired right up on the hose..only problem seems to be idleing quite high 3700 or so....does not want to come down..Now I didn't let it run long on the hose...a couple mins tops but it didn't want to idle down at all...Does this sound like a idle adjustment or something else...the ski has been stored for the last 3 years...

run it in the water. it should idle 1400 +- 100 RPM under load. on land I think I run 3500 as well.

Don't adjust anything until you try it in the water... running on land (no load) tells you very little

Also replace those spark plugs.

3700 is a bit high-you can adjust the idle screw to get it down to approx 3000 out of water which will give you about 1200 in the water.

Thanks for the info guys..I knew water would make a differance but didn't think it would be that big...will try this weekend...

Ok...went out this weekend and ran the RX..ran pretty good but idle would only go down to about 1450..after running for a while I checked the plugs and they looked pretty good..no lean condition..so I think I need to adjust the idle...can anyone tell me how to do it on the 951? Now I just reread a earlier post about 1400 sould be idle but my GTX idles smooth at 1050? 1400 seems pretty fast when going in on the trailer...opinions please..
