01 GTI Have RAVE Valves???

SKi will not respond past 3/4 throttle and therefore will only go 30MPH. I have been told it could be dirty RAVE valves. Does an 01 GTI have RAVE valves? If so are they easily accessible? Any thing else that I could check before taking it to a mechanic? I have only replaced plugs.

I believe that model has a 720 engine. If so, you do not have RAVE's.
I would check the fuel filter and clean it really good.
Also remove and clean or just bypass the fuel selector valve (reserve from tank to filter- filter to carbs. turn selector to reserve to block the "on")
Probably crap inside the carb filter as well if you feel really mechanical.

check out your motor, does it have 2-black caps, with red dots. If not, then no to raves.
