It is a 5 wire. I tested the stator and it tested good. Ordered a new ignition module so hopefully that's the problem. I'll post results.

Anyone have any ideas what that wire would be controlling?

hello all, new here. searched around and didn't find anything. just picked up a 1994 xp and has no spark. if I disconnect the red/black wire coming from the stator to the cdi it will spark and run. why is this happening? bad cdi? bad stator?

glad I joined. have been riding x4's for years. hoping to get allot of info.
