    rxpx 260 engine failure

Everything in Oz is more expensive.... (including Bundaberg Ginger Beer; why I can buy it for half the price in the US is beyond me....)

2007 GTI with short to ground

No, the DESS post doesn't have any relation to key programming, just replace it and you will be good

Not possible. Your GPS unit is broken.

hacking speed sensor and ecu, 2002 gtx 4-tec

There is no speed limiter in the early models. Main reason is that they are not that fast. Upper 50's is the fastest you will ever get a 2002 GTX going. Your GPS unit is broken if it is showing over 70 on this model.

    2004 RXP threw a rod.

Best way is to part it out. Nobody wants to buy a blown up ski. Don't muddy up the situation trying to sell the pair together. Potential buyers may wonder "is the other one going to blow up too?"

P0106 - Tried everything!. Struggling to find solution

Couple points: 1. You are not interpreting manifold pressure properly. Static ambient air pressure is 100 kPa or 14.7 PSI. So your reading of 8.8 PSI is a vacuum, which is consistent with the engine slightly off idle. 2. MAP sensors don't like water. Your replacement sensor may have been...

    Do I Freeze My Spark?

You are probably just fine. Water is used to keep the exhaust cool, there is a line leading up from pump to the exhaust manifold, then the water flows into the waterbox and out. There is always water in the waterbox, no way to get it all out. The big risk you have is water freezing in the...

    Winterize advice

None of these suggestions are the easy route. The easiest thing is what I do. I use a common drill pump, only about $7. Then I attach a short length of garden hose on each end, the male adapter on the outlet, just a 2 foot section on the inlet. It only takes a minute to screw the whole...

    Spare Spark Plugs

Those numbers don't mean a thing, those are just Sea Doo recommended numbers. Again, these numbers make people think the plugs are a rarely replaced item, when it is not true. They fail all the time.

    Spare Spark Plugs

No, he was an auto mechanic. Plugs on cars these days last 100K miles, they almost never go bad, so he was comparing a ski to a car. His ski was relatively new, so he thought there was no way the plugs could be bad. It is common for 4TEC plugs to go bad every season, usually from fogging.

    Spare Spark Plugs

If you think spark plugs are not an issue with 4TECs, then you don't know much about them. If the ski is running fine on the water, however, it is rare they go bad. The usual time they fail is after dewinterizing or just after sitting for a long time. My lake house is a quarter mile from...

    2005 Supercharged RXP

They came out with the upgraded valves in mid-2006, as well as better flywheel bolts. So 2007 and newer gives you better valve reliability. They came out with the steel supercharger washers in 2008. It is generally considered that 2008+ engines are much better for long term reliability. I...

    2005 Supercharged RXP

It is not easy to turn these over externally. You can slip a small pipe wrench up the intake grate and turn it over that way, it will booger up the plating on the shaft so if you run in salt water use caution. Probably dropped a valve(s). Very common for this year. Take out all the spark...

    Closing it up for winter.

+1 on Stabil for the fuel treatment, but never use the Stabil fogging oil, it is basically kerosene. They should be embarrassed to sell that stuff. The Evinrude/Johnson fogging oil is the best, thick and foamy to coat all parts.

Help! 2013 GTS 130 Head Gasket

The rust is not good, but probably won't hurt anything. You have had moisture in there for a long time. What does the oil look like? You can get that kind of rust simply by riding short hops without letting the engine really warm up to bake it out, combined with leaving skis outside.
