We planned to launch it toward the river but the pool wouldn't hold enough water to make the jump that we planned. In the end, I think that it would have worked fine. At least nobody got hurt!
Thought it might be fun to have a test tank in my backyard but the crappy pool leaked so we had some fun with it.

This 94 GTX was part of a package deal. Most of the good parts were removed when I got it and nobody on CL was interested in the empty hull. Not even for free.
In case you have ever considered splitting one of these in half and re-purposing the lower section, here's what it might look like. I...
Update: Since re-doing the connector and replacing a bad wire I experienced another intermittant failure. Engine was cutting out. I limped it home and found another highly corroded wire. Stripping the insulation back I found that the copper conductor strands were black and crunchy. Replace the...
That pad sort of fit on my two seater but I opted to go with the original pad for simplicity. Turns out you have to change the plastic bracket that holds the alarm as well. Then you have to do something with the button panel. It looked sweet but I pulled it back off and installed the original...
Assuming that it really is the shaft, then swapping it out isn't a big deal. You just pull the pump and slip the new shaft in. Getting the pump off the hull can be a challenge but you can find the procedure in this forum.
Had to do the pump pull again this summer. Here's a video of the setup. This time I tied the pump to the tree and yanked (actually pushed) the ski away from it. Took a few tries but we got it off. This jet pump was a mess from lots of salt water exposure. The video includes a look at what it...
What mikidyma says below is the right answer. I have a home-made tool like that but I couldn't find it so I used a pipe wrench on the drive shaft. That shaft was bent so I wasn't concerned about damaging it. What you can't see on the backside of the pump is the pump shaft end that the wrench...
After spending the better part of the weekend pulling the pump and replacing the wear ring, I put together a video that shows exactly why you want to buy used parts from a freshwater machine. Everything worked out fine, but I'm not sure that I want to work that hard again for a jet pump...
How to: Make your own carbon fiber look vinyl center console.
Here's another video I put together today. Not quite as dramatic, but it's another quick and inexpensive project that can make your center console look a bit more modern. https://youtu.be/1Ok5r1h_6r4
