Spent the winter studying up and collecting parts. I think I’m going to end up with a decent rec ski to compliment the mint 96 XP I wound up with. I put my UMI on this weekend. Felt kind of bad pulling it out of the blister pack.

Did you ever install the Yamaha trim?

What size Protaper bars have people found to be most comfortable with UMI steering on these hulls?

Do you think the carbs I have are probably "too much" for what little else is modded on the ski?

That's fairly low compression. But it's even. Another important test to do is a leakage test. It's more involved than a compression test, however if your motor isn't air tight it's not going to run right, especially with the added resistance of being in water. How well does it run out of water...
