A used OEM starter with a good rebuild kit is better than ANY aftermarket starter anyday.
Go on ebay, find the cleanest looking oem starter and buy it. Order up a rebuild kit. Take your time doing the rebuild, clean the commutator contacts, put in the new brushes, grease the bearing surfaces...
Hey Dude!
I've been out of things for a while. Got divorced, readjusting life from that, broke my leg and had to sit out last spring for mountain riding. Got the DOOs back on the water for half the summer, the last time I rode was mid August when I took a cute Texas Lady out on a first date and...
Hey there guys. Hope everyone is doing good.
I'm hoping someone can give me a pointer on using the candoopro to program dess caps on a 97 gtx and 98 xp ltd.
Back ground here is The two machines run perfect, I only have one dess cord programed for each machine and want to set up all my machines...
Use soft solder with the valve in place.
Measure at 4 points, quadrants of the rv cover.
The min should be .010", the max is .014".
Under .010" can cause hot running, over .014" can cause hard starting when the engine is warm.
There are a few clear lines coming off the motor and pipe, those are water outlet lines that should have water flowing through them during operation.
At the rear of the machine is a stainless steel loop to tie a kier ot tube to. Coming out of the hull, at the loop, is a small black plastic...
The 2 on the needle/seat stood out as a red flag. This makes me think someone has goneb in and mixed things up at some point in the past.
You need to stop chasing your tail. Take a step back and start confirming the carb is calibrated to factory specs on the low speed jets, you screw settings...
You are on the right track in doing everything you have listed. There are multiple areas of the fuel system that can cause adverse running conditions and ALL must be eliminated to ensure proper running. To do this you have to do a complete fuel system check. Back to OEM is a must, replace the...
Pictures.
I run a 94 xp all the time. It was given to me as a complete basket case, I built it back up and have lots of experience to share.
look on the motor nameplate and confirm if it is a 657X motor. They made an 80hp 657 motor for two seasons and designated it "X".
It is that easy to fix. The carrier has two seals and one bearing. You can find them on ebay pre-assembled for cheap. If osd marine has a pre-assembled I would go with them.
Pump some grease in that thing, it might help a little.
It sounds like the damage is done, I'm sorry to say. A full pump rebuild is needed.
Hopefully you can get the impeller and shaft to break free without resorting to a method that could damage the pump body itself
The advice I have to give is only for when you put in all new parts...
The...
Sounds like your rotary valve timing is off/the valve timing is not consistant. Pull the RV cover off and see how much slop there is in the rotary valve shaft, you might have stripped the brass gear. Spin the rv shaft by hand, you should only have a few degrees of rotation.
90 psi is way to low. Find a good quality gauge that threads into the plug hole as deep as the spark plug does.
I have a snap-on gauge set with two different depth adaptors, one full length and one roughly half the thread length of a normal spark plug. The shorter reach adaptor gives me a...
Yes, you have one of the original thru hull designs. You should be able to order seals and a bearing to rebuild the one you have. If the seal housing itself is leaking then try ebay.
