Wheres the water pick up located on a 97 gti?

Im just wanting to make sure my line is clear so theres no blockage to allow water to get to motor, i still havent tried starting this 97 yet, but just trying to check on various things before hand thanks for anyones help.

not positive about gti, but water pickup is usually inside the pump housing. try running it on the garden hose, that is a backflush and you should see water coming out the housing (as well as the pee hole and exhaust). simple thing to do is just disconnect the intake hose from the engine, stick a funnel in it and pour in some water.

glad to help. if you do the funnel things, it might be a 2 man operation, one to pour the water and one to look in the housing and see exactly where the water is coming out. (which would be your water intake)
