What is the correct starter for 1999 GTI 720? 3 seater. Where best to get a decent

It looks like there are lots of options. I think my starter is part number 278001300. There are many brands running all kinds of prices. Any suggestions? Took the starter out and it is toast. commuter burned etc. Are there good and bad brands? Looks like a lot of the after market starters fit multiple part numbers

Get a good used OEM and rebuild it. All aftermarket starters are junk.

The problem is you don't know when you have a good OEM to rebuild til you take it apart. Should I just buy 2 starters? They are only about $50
