what, how much, and how easy is this.... cant believe ive owned this thing 3 weeks and have spent 3 weeks working on it....

So I have decided right now as a quick fix I am going to go premix. I know there are a lot of mixed feelings about this, so what are some good ones. I plan on switching back during the offseason when I have more time to mess with this, right now I'd rather be playin then workin. I have already ordered a block off kit and some exhaust gaskets for the tuned pipe from sbt. Anyone have any advice? I know to take out the shaft (guess that will make sense when I take the pump off). I have a 1/4 tank in it now, should I siphon that out or mix a little more when sticking in the premix. also does the oil in the gas settle? if so what can I do to keep it mixed up, thanks

Also I am a little scared now to pull these oil lines off the other side, what do i do if that side breaks

I'm going to try to help you since no one else on here will. That is the oil injection pump. It is held on w/ 2 bolts. Then you have to pull it off the shaft. DO NOT use the oil in the tank for premix. You will have to drain it all out and then use some premix oil. What? I don't know. It will have to be low ash is all I know. Maybe not. Just leave the oil lines on the other end of the ski. Put a cap on them or block them off some how. Pinch them or something.

Its not that we won't help. We were just waiting for you slowboat.

The oil in the premix should not settle. There's nothing wrong with premixing other than just that. Mixing. But get yourself a good ratiorite measure cup and you may never end up back with injection. Or at the least you'll make it throuhg the season

Hold on guys.....bond67, LEAVE the oil in the tank. You need to keep oil there, so it lubes the RV assy, or else, you have NO FUN on water. Mix your gas 40/1....5gal/16oz oil. Also, the oil line with filter inline, needs to be capped off, or you'll get a cap to mount on the bottom of tank, with the block-off kit.

You really didnt need a block kit. Undo the 2-allen screws hold'n pump, pull out, then remove the white plastic shaft. Then rebolt back up the pump.

I was just playin rexsteiner. Since you brought it up, no one but timmyboy answers any of my posts. I have to go else where to get answers. Which sucks. I really like this site and was hoping to get a lot of info. Now I'm hogging this guys thread.

So I have been using this for the seadoo when it was running with an oil pump

Its the only stuff I could find at the time, I have a little bit left and pretty much my oil tank is full. How much oil does the RV assembly use? Since I am switching to premix I kind of want to see if I can get something a little cheaper and more ready available, will running the XP-S in the oil tank and running something different effect anything?

I think someone was saying the quicksilver is good to get and it is cheaper than the XP-S. If I go back to the oil pump I will probably switch back to the XP-S.

Also I already bought the block off kit, I'll take the shaft and all that out, not exactly sure how to block off the line going to the pump. hopefully the kit will come with something

U just need enough oil to keep the rv assembly full. And it won't hurt a thing to keep synthetic in it.
Quicksilvers a good marine premix. If it were me I'd get the cheepest I could find. Like some valvoline or somthing and clean the raves often. Its only 1 season...

I'm down for buying even cheaper... what marine low ash synthetic is cheaper?

I wish I could slowboatn, every time something breaks the gf looks at me like I broke it... which only happens a 1/4 of the time

I know the feeling. I only spent like $80 on the springs and jets for my carbs and now I need another flame arrestor. They are like $50 something. So my wife gave me the evil eye. Of course no dealer or parts store around me have them. They all have to order them. I'm putting this thing in the water on friday. Flame arrestor or no flame arrestor.

well cant go a day without f'ing something up, bottom on the fuel baffle fell out while I was taking it out...... leaving it and the float in the tank. If I cant get that out how bad would it be if I just left it in there?

Sorry for butting in, but whydo you need to remove the plastic shaft? can you premix without removing this? I dont think I will be able to get my pump off? Can I just block off the main supply to the pump and then pre-mix?Thanks,Mark
