So i recently took my jet pump apart and replaced the wear ring. My old wear ring took some convincing to get out, now my new one slide in and out by hand any info?
No special tools. Impeller wrench would help but I didn’t use one. I used a chisel and cut out the old ring. Just be careful not to scar the inside of the impeller housing. When you order the ring go ahead and replace the neoprene gasket (it’s between the hull and pump). Mine was completely gone and for only $10 it’s well worth replacing. There’s 2 rubber “O” rings. I replaced those too. As far as the baring come, I just used 90w gear oil. It’s not hard to do. Just time consuming. Good luck
So am I ok with the neoprene gasket? Been running it that way and haven’t had a prob. When I bought mine I honestly though some job blow redneck repaired it and sealed it back with silicone! Lol
Actually the factory uses Loctite 518 sealant on the o-rings and reduction nozzle.
Thanks.... I will get the right stuff !!The proper way is in the manual, Copper Permatex RTV on both sides of the copper ring. Make sure the flanges are tight together before you get all the mounts more than finger tight.
