Wear Ring Worn Down?

I have a 2022 SeaDoo Switch Sport 18' 230 with 150 hours on it. Recently, it has been going very slow, with poor acceleration and takes a very long time to get up to speed with about 600 out of the 1150 pounds it can handle. With those 600 pounds on board, it will only go 10 MPH even if I floor it, and takes about 5 minutes after that to get to 25. My friend did suck up a rope into the intake once, but we had it removed. I also use it on a shallow lake and I think that is the main cause of my issue. It has no lights on the dashboard and the engine is running smoothly, but if I floor it, it won't go and will just hit the redline. Is this a wear ring/impeller issue? I am really trying to get this fixed, but there is no one on my lake that works on SeaDoos. Any help is appreciated!

I’m not familiar with that particular model but it does sound like a cavitation issue. Several things that can cause cavitation. Worn wear ring, debris in pump or sucking air. If underneath is easily accessible take a cursory inspection for debris and any large gaps between impeller and wear ring. If all looks clean, check carbon seal for leaks while running in the water. If no leaks, I would suggest pulling the pump (takes less than 10 minutes on most of the toys) for closer inspection. Inspect splines on shaft and use feeler gauge to make sure wear ring gap is within specs .

I think you’ll probably either find debris or a blown out carbon ring.
