MY 16 year old son capsized my GTX215. Got it restarted immediately. Got to shore and did not start. Towed by Harbormaster. Brought it to dealer thought it may be engine. Told me it was water in the gas tank. All is well now and a couple of scheckles later. Three new plugs, fuel, and stabilizer. How the heck does water get in the gas tank or line after flipping for a time that did not exceed 30 seconds. My thought motor was running after it flipped but i could be wrong.

I'm not clear on your description but if it didn't start after being towed in the water, it may have actually been hydrolocked (water in the cylinders) from being towed. or if it didn't start after he rolled it upright, he may have rolled it in the wrong direction which would also hydrolock it.

If your TOPS is functioning correctly the ski would have automatically shut off once it flipped. Hopefully that helps you rule out some things...

I thought so to. My son said when he flipped over the lanyard stretched with the key in the ignition and after he flipped it back he saw the key was still attached to the ignition. Brought it back to shore and during restart nothing. Thought he was out of gas .Added 5 gallons of 91 grade unleaded and still would not turn over. I looked at it at home and a lot more than 5 gallons of gas. Brought it in to dealer and a lot of water in the tank. But took it out today and all is fine. Weird the way the key and lanyard did not come off.
