Hello to all of you RXP Wizzards!
Mamma's 2009 RXP was running rough and had a large amount of water in the bilge after having sat in the slip for two weeks. Pulled her out to take her home to take a look at the plugs. Low and behold the #1 cylinder had water in it. Thru the judicial use of this and other forums, it looked like the intercooler could be the culprit. I pulled it and sure enough it had lots of water in it. Problem solved? Well, after having priced a number of intercoolers, I had sticker shock and wanted to double check. I filled the water side and waited for the water to flow out. No joy. Having seen the U tube video of water coming out of the intercooler air hose with the engine running I deducted that it needed warmed up to expand the supposed crack. Well, I got out mamma's hair drier and proceeded to heat the intercooler to pretty dang hot....no water came gushing out. Next thing to do was to pressurize the water side to 35 psi....dayum, no water has come out of the air side at all!
So I am at a loss now as to where the water came from. Any and all advice will be appreciated. Mamma will love you and me!!
