okay thanks man! but is there any way i can run these sea doos with the water hose? I know the order (ski on, water on, water off, ski off) but i don’t know where to hook the hose up to do it.This is the full kit![]()
so there’s no screw on piece unless i have the green hose?If you had that green housye you could. But, assuming you don't, you'll have to adapt from your garden hose to the cylinder head. Then hook that hose back up like it is. Not a big deal, cut an old garden hose clamp out on and you'll be good to go.
i removed it earlier to just look at it (the red cap that hangs) and the hole was super small, should it be like that? No, if you remove the red cap there should be an o ring and a groove. The o ring seals it the groove is for the clip that holds it to the white adapter.
Just cut a hose, loosen the hose on the head, put the garden hose on, clamp it and begin the flush procedure. Then order a flush kit for the future and life will be simple.
well I don’t have a trailer hitch for my suv yet and i wanna get them running asap, also don’t have the tag for the trailer yet.Why are you trying to run on the hose? I don’t ever suggest running the skis on the hose unless you are back flushing... The carbon seal will burn up before the motor overheats, so it’s really only asking for trouble. If the motor will start and hold an idle on the trailer, any further troubleshooting that needs the motor running for more than a minute or so should really be done in the water...
what color should the oil be? i looked at it earlier and it was sorta yellow brown. it looked and smelled like good oil. And when you say “pump”, what do u mean? the oil pump or something else? sorry for all the questions but i’m glad y’all are responding so thanks !!You can get the skis running without the hose hooked up. In fact, you really shouldn’t even consider putting the hose on it until you’re sure it will start and stay running. If you turn the water on and the motor dies for any reason before the water is shut back off, you’re going to have bigger problems than you started with... Make a checklist of everything you need to go through to get the skis lake ready, and go through all of those things while you’re waiting for a hitch. There’s plenty to keep you busy until you have your hitch and tags...
1.) Go through the fuel system. Replace any grey lines, go through the filters and selectors. Read and follow the carb sticky on the forum.
2.) Go through your pump. Inspect the wear ring and impeller, and replace as necessary. If all looks good, at least change your pump oil.
3.) Check the 2-stroke oil. If it’s blue oil, you need to drain and clean the tank, flush the RV cavity, and refill with the correct API-TC rated oil.
She did not but I can ask whenever I see her again on Saturday.Might be the correct oil if natural yellowish/transparent as if no color die was used. Did the seller give you a partial bottle of the oil he was using for reference?
A couple years ago, Seadoo oil color changed to red from the yellowish/transparent color.
okay thanks man i’ll let you know about anything elseWhen I was talking about the pump I was referring to the jet pump where the impeller is located. The cone on the end of it is filled with oil and needs to be changed.
