I think I already know the answer to this, but wanted to run it by the forum, before I rush out and replace the beeber.
Sometimes the beeper does not sound, when I put the DESS key on the post. Cleaned the button in the middle of the post, and the contact in the key. Other times, everything works fine, and it beeps as normal. When I first noticed the problem, I could ground the heat sender wire, and it would beep. Yesterday, it would not beep when attaching key, so did the ground test, and got a very faint tick sound. I just chalked it up to a bad beeper, but today, it works fine. I have checked all the connections.
Does it sound like a failing beeper, or do I have some other problem???

last weeks price on the SP-1136 is $25, and you have to call them to order it. SP means special, and it will never be on their web site for online ordering.

In addition, they charge a $5 handling fee and some amount for postage ... I bought three and postage was around $12.

if you are looking to save money on a new buzzer, you are probably better off getting the XC-09-330-W which has about the same specs (see attached spec sheet for the SP-1136) but not the 3 foot long factory wire colors.

The XC-09-212-W could also be used, but you're pushing the limit since that's rated for 12V max with a 20% overage for less than 5 minutes.

Since none of the Floyd-bell options have the connector pins on the end or black outer sleeve, you will need to reuse the sleeve and splice onto the existing wires or get weatherpak pins and the crimping tool.

it's elsewhere on the site, but to put all the info in one spot, the purple/tan wire is the positive lead, so that's where the red wire on the XC-09-330-W goes.

your main options are:
- crimping on weatherpak pins? Get the SP-1136 so the wire colors are right. Avoid confusion with mismatched wire colors at the connectors.
- splicing onto the existing harness? Get the cheaper unit.

used units are just a gamble on how long they last. Sometimes you win.

If I was doing this again, I'd either get the XC-09-330-W from Floyd or a new unit off ebay/online. Costs the same as going direct to Floyd-bell after factoring in shipping/handling.
