Just bought a set of Bombardier Xp's which I beliver are the '95 and '96 models. The previous owner purchased them in a small lake town in Central Florida. So they were most likely lake ridden. He himself said they were running when he got them. But do to his age and health, he just cant do anything with them anymore. So they have been sitting in his driveway for the past 5 yrs...:leaving:

Im handy when it comes to most things, and have worked on both automotive and small engines before. So Im hoping the I can tackle a big chunk of the much needed maintenance. Any tips you guys can provide will be greatly appreciated. Seeing as this is my first time owning and working on any type of watercraft.

Until I get a hitch, and the tag transfered there at a buddies house in Seabring. Once I get them home, I wanna pressire clean the hell out of the hulls and wax them up. What type of wax do you guys use? Same as automotive?

The seats, handle bar foam, carpet, and handles are all in bad shape. I grabbed one of the handles and it was soft ass bubble gum. Whats a good site to buy parts?

Once they're cleaned up i want to replace the fuel lines, pull the carb for cleaning, and flush the gas tank. Anything else I should look out for before attempting to start them?

Also, can they be re painted with automotive paint? I might have my buddy shoot them for me.

Thanks in advance!

Get 3,000 grit sandpaper, the polish them with some cleaner wax...they will shine like new....the Gell coat is very thick.

I cant tell you how much I have learned from people on this site. You will have many issues as you learn about your ski...but then one day you will feel totally confident on it, out in the water. I did 2 laps around Ana Marie Island by myself on Saturday on my GTI. I love the days when I put it back on the trailer with no issues. Now I am starting over with my GTX Limited.
