A while back i changed the inline oil filters on my 2 787 XP 's ever since I've Been getting oil in the bottom of both of them so I'm figuring what ever is causing it on one is what's causing it on the other , cleaned out the hull today and I jacked up the front of the trailer so if there was a leak it would run to the back , I had a very small stream of oil and water coming from under the gas tank which I believe was from the clean up then the hull was dry up to the front of the motor at the back of the motor there was a pretty good oil mess so I'm thinking it's coming from the oil line that runs out of the top of the oil tank and under the left side of the motor , does anyone know where this oil line leads to ? It's almost impossible to get your hand under there to see where it leads can only imagine what a bitch it will be to change this line if that's where the leak is

Nope it is just a slow leak. Feel around the fitting on the bottom of the tank is it wet?

No it's dry , there is an oil line that leads from the top of the tank down under the left side of the motor and clue where that leads to can't get my hands under there to tight

That's the oil bath return line for the rotary assembly. The feed line is on the other side of the engine by the starter.

Another thing to check is the check valve up on top of the tank. Not sure how the XP is plumbed but on my GTX the RV return line connects to the oil level sender and that check valve is on there too. My check valve was bad and whenever the engine was running the RV return would push oil out of the check valve. Took me a while to find that one.

They don't need to be running to leak I put oil in both of them and the next day there is puddle in the hull I checked high to low to find the leaks and everything up high I always dry after I fill them , I never had a problem on either of the ski's till I changed the inline oil filters but even the filters and the lines are dry after I fill them but the bottom of the hull still gets oil I'm thinking it has to be the line that runs out of the top of the oil tank and down under the left side of the motor opposite side of the starter I have no clue where this leads can't get under there with my hands to feel around sure hope I'm wrong that seem like it will be hell to change that line and then to have to do it on both skis not fun

You have to pull the exhaust to get to this line. Or you can use a mirror to inspect. If you are running oil injection the line that goes to the bottom of the pump is another thing to check. There isn't much to the oiling system on these motors. Start eliminating leak spots by checking every line 1 at a time.

I keep checking each line and they always seem to be dry that another reason why I think it's down on the left side , I'm gonna clean the hull out real good and put some rags down and see if any of the rags get oil on them hopefully that will work

Yeah, the oil lines get stiff and crack with age. Check the tiny oil lines coming from oil pump to rotary cover also.
