I'm totally new at the whole jetboat thing and I'm still a bit distraught at how to begin, working on motors is ok but just the whole starting thing boggles my brain..

I am searching the forum on how to start my jetboat... (What buttons to push and what to put in place)

I tried to start one of the engines (starbord side) yesterday with a fresh battery but all it does is try to turn... (I'm going to put in new plugs and try again today as soon as I get some starting help)

My port side motor will need a new top end and the manual says that there's no need to take out the motor to do this, I think it would make it so much easier to work on (space wise) to just take it out since it is so small. (Some opinions on this would be appreciated) The port side motor is seized up, the previous owner took off the head and left it open, I can see both pistons and the sludge build up.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hey there 1st make sure your starboard side gas switch is on under the back compartment turn it all the way clockwise.(I'd leave the other one off).Make sure your lanyard is on snug & you heard the 2 beeps.

Then pull choke full, press starboard side start button you may need to pump the starboard side throttle as well..

With a full battery it "should" fire right up..But if the one engine is seized who knows what kind of condition this other engine is in..

Good Luck..!

I put the lanyrad on but no beeps ring out, I'm going to check the fuses (which BTW where are they located?) to see if anything is toasted.

Forgot about the gas nob under the compartment (Doh!)

Will definitely try again today...

How much time would it take to replace the top end on a 787 motor w/out taking the motor out?

Make sure all fuses are good (I think some are under the rear compartment in the big grey box,MEMP I believe its called) & some are under the compartment just behind the steering wheel...
I'm not sure about the head & how long it would take.......thankfully

Karl's the expert I'm sure he will post some help for you
