I have a 1994 GTX...I was greasing the output shaft... There are two fittings under the plastic cover...I was greasing the fitting closest to the rear and over filled it mistakenly and heard a "pop"... Am I in trouble?????

Yes, you will have to pull the pump and driveshaft to get to it and install a new seal.

Only 1-2 pumps per season.
You need to see if the seal is out. There is a seal in the front and one in the back with a set of needle bearings in the middle. Typically the pop you heard is the seal coming out.

One last question... Do I need to buy the new part, or can I take it apart and just pop the seal back into place... Thanks again!

I wouldn’t take a chance. If you are going to all the trouble just buy a new seal.

Is there enough room to slide the carrier toward the engine and have a look? If the rubber isn't separated from the seal and you have enough room you might be able to trick It. :D
