I just bought a 94 seadoo spx, the previous owner said the engine fills with oil and it shuts off, before i dig into it any one have any idea what this could be.

The oil pump for the fuel perhaps?

Problem is likely bad seals on the crankshaft. You can't fix it without pulling the crank. I just install a valve in the rotary valve oil line. Open it when riding, close it when not. If the leak isn't really that bad you can leave the valve open for the weekend.

My wife's ski will get enough oil in it to lock the engine up in about 10 days. After I clear it and start the engine the ski is fine and runs great. On the oil leak....If the leak is really bad the ski won't correctly and you'll have to replace the crank. Good Luck !

As long as the ski runs well, that valve is a very effective interim repair. Interim as in a few years. :) LOL
Got it.
The guy did also said he blocked off the oil pump or whatever it's called, and it still was filling with oil which if its blocked off I don't get y it would do that and I really hope he was premixeing when he blocked it off.

There are TWO feed lines; One for the injection pump and one for the rotary valve gear section. They are separate so deleting the oil pump won't affect the Rotary Valve area. Good Luck..

The guy said it was the cylinders filling up with oil if that changes anything
Sorry I forgot to mention that I been working and responding and giving info as I remember and have time to

Oil pump will not cause your issue, it's the inner crank seals and that is why removing the oil pump didn't stop the oil problem.

But now you get to premix and add rotary oil.

Better have a look at that oil pump system. Clamping the oil pump line isn't good for the oil pump as it spins at 6k rpm with no oil and if it locks up it will break the drive adapter. I would replace the oil pump or at least remove and test it. Get is fixed up right. Good Luck.

Awsome thanks for the advice I'm not sure how long he had it clamped and if it even ran while clamped but ur right it would be good to test it if not just replace it anyway.
