I believe I have just found my winter project sadly enough, Looking around the ski yesterday and found a couple oil puddles pictured below, I'm just not sure where it could be leaking from 1 puddle is just above the crankshaft cover I believe and the other one is next to oil sending unit ( least I think that's what it is). Other then new gaskets has anyone got any suggestions tips hints of what you may have came across repairing such things.?
Also I'm thinking I have found a tow valve installed on my ski as well can someone confirm this too please.
Cheers.

Let's start with the easy stuff first. Yes that looks like a tow valve to me, but it's difficult to determine where the line connects from the picture. If it hose runs between the inlet that from the jet pump area (where you connect your flushing adapter), to the bottom front of the exhaust manifold, that's a tow valve. Just make sure if you ever use it to tie a string to the throttle to remind you it's closed. I'd use a "remove before flight" streamer.

When was the last time you checked your oil level?

I'd say you need to clean everything off, and then run the ski to see where oil's coming from.

The hose where the valve is does run from the back of the ski as you mentioned I'm going to have a better look this afternoon to see where the other hose going forward is actually connected to as it was only a quick look around the engine area when I noticed it as I have had to be towed a couple times and came across a post here the other day talking about installing such valve.
I normally check the oil before getting out, with that said I just changed it the filter and plugs about 2 weeks ago max, I always have a look around the engine and hull just for these sorts of things. This is the first time I have noticed the puddles though it don't seem to be leaking from the filter cap. Anyways I shall give it a clean start it and try finding the leakage, I'm just hoping its not a major repair but I'm thinking maybe the head gasket. I think I'll be safe for the summer though keeping an eye on the oil levels as I do.
