So I picked up a 99 GTI cheap that I was told had a bad top end, they said it had no power. So I brought it home did a compression check 140 psi both cylinders. I pulled the pull off and the wear ring is wasted, has to be a 1/4" gap around the impeller. So i go to remove the impeller and it is frozen on the shaft. I tried holding the shaft and using a breaker bar to loosen the impeller. I've been spraying oil into the threads of the impeller and heated the shaft a little from inside the impeller. Any ideas on how to get the impeller off?
