Before you guys get worked up...this is a work safe post.

MY 3 EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS KEEP STRIPPING!

I am referring to the ones that hold the pipe to the manifold. I tapped them to 5/16 24 and (2) of them seem to be holding but the rear one keeps stripping. I replaced them with grade 5 bolts and am praying they will hold.

Oh lords of all that is seadoo please bestow your wisdom upon me.

Someone told me I should not use high-temp gasket maker with the gasket that came in the rebuild kit. Any thoughts?

Replace the rubber exhaust bushings, and check the drive shaft, prop and wearing are all in good condition, anyone one of these can cause excessive vibration = broken/stripped bolts...

First, put a helicoil in. Tapping threads into the soft Al isn't going to hold much force.

But that part shouldn't have a lot of force on it. I suspect something is wrong. Motor mounts maybe are gone and the engine is moving. Grab the engine and really push on it to see if it moves - it shouldn't

Motor mounts were replaced last month when I had the engine rebuilt. I know the alum is soft and I tapped it very well. They seem to be holding for now.

I'm sure I am not the only person with this problem.
