Starter solenoid box 96 gtx

I am unable to get my black electrical box to snap shut properly after opening up(one under the seat). I had the same problem with the front gray electrical box for the mpem. Is there a trick to getting these shut and watertight? I know the rubber gasket is thick but can't get either one to seal and lock properly

I have some silicone grease that I use on pool filter o rings. I put a little of that on the seal and it seems to help it going back together
