First, I'm new to the forum and a first time ski owner so be gentle. Recently picked up a non running 2000 GTX DI for what I thought was a decent deal. I was told the issue was the fuel pump so that is where I started. The in line fuel filter had also been removed so I got one of those as well. I've got fire and can get it to start off a squirt of starter fluid but don't seem to be getting fuel in the cylinder but do have fuel up to the fuel rail. Injectors are reading 2 ohms if resistence. Parts are expensive if they can be found but I found a 2001 GTX that needs the motor rebuilt for cheap and am thinking of picking it up to rob for all the fuel system and/ or electronic party's I may need, are most all of the parts interchangeable from 2000 to 2001?

So sorry to hear your issue. The seadoo DI are the hardest to diagnose and most expensive skis to fix. I wish we could have given you some info before you bought it. You really need to use an OEM fuel pump as most of the aftermarket ones are junk. Some have had some luck cleaning the stock ones.

Yeah, based on the post by DooWacka I went with the pump from HighFlow. It looked like several folks had luck with it.

As an owner of 4 DI skis I recommend ditching the hi flow fuel pump and purchasing either a new OEM fuel pump or a good used one.
If going the used route call Westside Power Sports and see if Nick has one in stock.
After receiving the used pump take it apart and soak the pump in a 50/50 mixture of toluene and gasoline to get rid of the varnishing left behind by gasoline.
Replace the two internal fuel filters and re assemble. Airtex FS220 & FS242

The biggest reason these pumps fail is no maintenance. The internal fuel filters become clogged and restrict flow causing excessive wear on the pump.
Next I would cut the inline fuel filter off and replace with a WIX33095 inline filter with two heavy duty stainless hose clamps. This can be replaced yearly for less than 10 bucks.
I told you all this assuming you have already performed a compression test. If not I recommend that first before investing time and money into a fuel system.
Hope this helps.

P.S. DI skis are not as bad as most of the members/moderators here proclaim them to be. They get a bad rap because people start throwing parts at them trying to fix a problem when a proper diagnosis first would save a lot of time, money and frustration.

Compression is 120 psi per cylinder, I've read ideal is 135. It shows that it has only 80 hours on it, will it run at 120 and just not be a high end performer? Also do you know if the parts from a 2001 GTX to the 2000 are interchangeable for the most part?

Most things will interchange. The fuel pump has a different part number, but Sea Doo will change part numbers quite often, especially when they change vendors. I wouldn’t have any problems interchanging parts.
I have a 2000 and two 2001 skis and I have interchanged parts before with no problems.

Compression is fine. I wouldn’t worry about it.

The biggest things I would do aside from changing the fuel pump is:
1. Change the oil filter, clean the oil tank and run only Sea Doo XPS synthetic oil.
Can’t tell you how many DI’s I have seen with cheap oil and a blown cylinder.
2. Pull the jet pump and do a complete service on it.
3. Fog the engine everytime you return from the lake, or at least every two weeks.
4. Change fuel filter yearly.
5. Install only OEM voltage rectifier.
6. Use dielectric grease on all electrical connections.
JMHO
I probably missed a couple things. Good Luck.

I put an aftermarket fuel pump in my DI and it would not run. I bought a pressure gauge and found out not enough pressure. I sucked it up and bought a Sea Doo fuel pump and all is good now.
