questions

1: is there a main power shut off

2:i've been reading about the boats beeping,i'm not hearing any of this wassup??

3:the choke cable is only hooked up to one carb and it's not clear how to hook up the 2nd one. help

4: how do i make certain that the oil injection is working right??

5: the tethercord isn't killing the engine but the kill switch on the bar is.what could be wrong??

6: this boat has ventilation hose and a blower.is the blower supposed to blow air into the hull or out of the boat??

I'll answer the questions I think I know. Don't know anything about that boat or the 580 engines.

2 - the other boats will beep letting you know that either everything is OK or what is wrong. Your beeper could be dead. Easy to replace or test with a multi meter

3 - Usually there's a linkage that goes between the two carbs. Maybe something on the bottom of the choke that looks like a miniature trailer hitch ball. That's where the linkage would attach to.

4 - You can test the oil pump by taking it off and spinning it with a drill and measuring what comes out of each tube. Should be the right quantity and even between the two

6 - blower usually sucks air in from outside.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply
as forthe beeper if you look at the wiring diadram mine only shows a high temp low oil buzzer is this the same as the newer boats or is the beeper seperate?? Mine does not have a dess key
as for the blower thanks i'm just getting ready to place it back in the boat and didn'ttake it out so i didn't know how it went.. Boat to float this afternoon ..thanks

1) NO
2) Dess Skis only for key beep yours is not Dess... Test beeper by grounding the wire on the center of the head to a bolt (temp sensor wire)
3) older skis only choked one carb to fire then the pump kicks in.... Or you can buy a 1993 XP choke cable it is a single to dual cable. (the ball he is speaking of is throttle linkage.
4) it either works or it doesn't, if you look at the small oil lines running to each carb, you will see a small spot that was taped off when painted to see the oil in the lines. if there is oil there when running the pump is working.
5) you wired the MPEM wrong. cant remember but there are two wires that are the same color and plugged in the opposite place will cause this problem.
6) into the hull

Atc thanks for the reply 1 question though is that the mag side carb has a butterfly for a choke like the rearward one.
This one is not supposed to be hooked up correct?
Thanks for the answers helps cleaer some things up
