I went out to the lake by myself today, was planning to make sure the boat was working perfect for my 5 day lake vacation starting on Friday. I had a very important call and the wakes pushed me into the shore while I was floating. Once the call finished I pushed myself off to what I thought was a safe distance to start the boat since the lake gets deep quick.

I've already removed 3 small branches form the impeller this season so was expecting another session under the boat once I slowly got to the dock.

I started her up, left it in neutral for about 3 seconds then went to forward and I pressed the gas slowly anticipating some vibration from a few twigs in the impeller, well I sure got it. Along with a sound like rocks bouncing around in a can. I stopped the motor immediately and waved for some help to tow me to the dock a half mile away.

I didn't have a mirror to see if any rocks collected near the impeller but will do that tmrw morning, but it there any other things I may have damaged. The black jet pipe under the rear deck was sitting against the shore and some rocks as I started it. Any clues to what the rock sound was?

Thanks alot for any help in advance :hat:

Oh and this forum should really get a facepalm smily since this is the second time this year I could use it on myself

The only real advice I can give is to have a look at it as soon as possible, and water test it as well. That way if there is a problem you can plead with Byron and the guys out at Bowridge to see if they can have the wear ring or impeller replaced by Friday if it needs one or the other. It would suck to have a broken boat just before holidays.
