Hi all just got my 1st ski. Gtx 185 supercharged.
I have it in my garage and all I can smell is petrol I contacted the previous owner and he told me it was normal as the petrol tank vents into the hull is this correct

Pull the seat, stick your head inside and sniff. If stronger you got a problem, if fainter he's probably right. How hot does it get in your garage? Enough to cause expansion/fumes?

No it doesn't gtx warm in there since I've had the seat off it as got a lot fainter does it just build up when the seat is on

No it shouldn’t build up. Mine doesn’t have any gas smell. It’s very dangerous if you have fumes in the hull. I’d check all fuel line connections and make sure the vent is clear.

I suppose what I was trying to say is ALL gasoline expands and contracts with temperature change. If your garage temperature fluctuates then stored fuel is going to outgass fumes. Are these fumes coming from the tank vent as intended(that's why it has a vent), or from inside the machine where there should NEVER be any fumes?
Leave the seat on for a day, then remove and SNIFF inside and out to attempt to locate where fumes are most concentrated.

The previous owner doesn’t know what he’s talking about. It doesn’t vent into the hull.
