ski pylon?

I just bought and installed one for my 2008 RXT.

Installation isnt too bad if your not scared of drilling a hole in fiberglass. If you're not comfortable with drilling then find someone who is or have the dealer install it.

It works just fine, me and some of my friends are 200+ lbs and it seems to hold up with no problems.

Works especially well for the spotter, they finally have something to hold on to.

I thought about adding this same pylon to my 08 gti I just bought. Is there a reinforced area already designed into all sea doo hulls to mount it to? Does it mount to the same location as the factory tow eye? I would think the forces pulling on this pylon would be extreme making a super tough mounting point essential! Thanks!

the flange on the bottom part of the pylon is fairly wide which i believe dissipates some of the forces along it. Also the fiberglass in that area is fairly thick and curved which also helps with the strength.

There is also an arm that comes down and mounts to the original tow eye. This also makes it sturdy when pulling backwards.

Overall i think its pretty strong i have no doubts after using this all summer.

Only thing is i wouldn't hook up a tube to it. The installation instructions say to remove the original tow eye but i left it on so i could tube off that instead of the pylon.

One tip that I found very helpful in the past -- when drilling into fiberglass run the drill in reverse and there will be no "spidering"...
