Shredded seal?

Hey y’all, I have a 2000 seadoo gtx that has started to have a leaking issue. After I realized I was taking on water and got home I found pieces of rubber sticking out the back of the impeller, my question is if this is a shredded seal for the ski or if this is just some crap that I picked up while I’m riding. I could also see a ring of rubber on the driveshaft that looked loose and out of place that I could see from the water intake that I could not get a picture of. Any clues or thoughts? Thanks.

We need to see the walls of the cone, step back a little and show right and left walls, if you can, Does it look ragged or as if things are missing?

Man your camera is not very good. Let me ask you this can you see any daylight between the blades and the wall? The blades that spin? Can you take a pic of the blades that spin and the wall ?

Use a flashlight , it is tough but the mess you showed looks like the wear ring, which is designed to wear against the propeller, If it is gone then you will loose propulsion to some degree , may get cavitation as well.

Can you get your camera to focus better toward the back

I took more time to investigate and found that I could clearly see by taking off the water intake grate I took these pictures and noticed that when I cranked it the propeller was bouncing all around in there

Looks like you ate up your wear ring, easy to replace. Somewhat! It is meant to wear out, get a good brand, not a cheap O !

you have part of the seal hanging on your driveshaft thats not good. also if you have a lot of up and down side to side play on the driveshaft the bearings inside the pump are shot
