I opened this thread and read your question and low and behold, here was a sponsored link just below it that will answer your question.

im looking at the website and still have a question. If there are chips of the yellow "paint" (i assume the yellow color on the hull is actually the gelcoat?) missing on the hull where you can see the fiberglass underneath, is one of these kits the answer or not the right product to fix something like that?
 
It depends on if the fiber glass that is exposes is damaged. If it is just exposed, the gel-coat repair kit will be all that is needed. If the exposed fiberglass is ruptured in any way, then you may have to get a fiberglass repair kit as well. It just depends on how bad the fiberglass is hurt.
