hi im new to all this forum stuff so please bear with me as i try to pick your brains.
i have a 2003 seadoo gti rfi le. i bought it with the low battery light flashing.
1/ first step was change regulator (still not charging)
2/ step check both fuses (20amp and 5amp) still not charging
3/ step i removed 20amp fuse and it showed about 20volts coming from regulator.
ON CLOSER INSPECTION I SUSPECT THAT THE PREVIUSE OWNER HAS MODIFIED IT SOMEHOW.
SO HAS ANYONE OUT THERE GOT A WIREING DIAG FOR CHARGING STHE YSTEM ON THIS MODEL AND IF POSS. A PICTURE OF THE RECTIFIER AND ASSOSIATED COMPONENTS IN SITUE.
AS I THINK SOME COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN REMOVED.

thanks in antisipation.(hope ive done this right as its my first attempt)

anyone got a diagram for charging system on a 2003 gti rfi. and if poss. picture of mep board in situe with assosiated components please.:

Regulator rectifier is bad most likely. Very common problem on those skis...

Become a premium member here and you then have access to all the service manuals and wiring diagrams.

Before all, did you check all of the fuses?

hi when i bought it the low battery light was showing so i changed rectifier but was just the same.
then i noticed that the lead from the rectifier went to a 20amp fuse and the lead coming from fuse had been cut and just tucked into the loom.
the matching wire (obviosly the same colour) had been taped to a red wire that went to starter solenoid (which was connected direct to +ve on battery)
there is approx 60volts AC from stator plate and this is converted to approx 20volts DC coming out of rectifier.
but when wires are connected together it still dosnt charge battery.
i have a feeling the last owner altered it in some way thats why i was looking for some pics of a similar ski to see if anything was missing.
cheers fred

dont know how to mate. just regestered and couldnt find first thread so did it again. sorry if i did it wrong but i will pick it up eventualy
are there only 2 fuses in charging cct. (5 amp in fuse box and 20 amp on top of rectifier mounting plate.) just been on internet and apparently the last owner removed the charger relay and the fuse that plugs into it.
just ordered new bits dont seem to be many second hand bits about.
JUST A LINE TO SAY I FOUND PROBLEM
1/ NEW RECTIFIER FAULTY
2/ ORIGIONAL FAULT WAS DESS. POLE (wasnt trigering cut out relay so previous owner had disconected the relay and put battery direct to engine feed)
thanks for info supplied fred
