Hi,

Have a used 97 Challenger with single 110 HP engine. RPM's are too high... 8000 - 9000+ and thrust is low. Seems like something is slipping. Is there a clutch plate or something which can be slipping?

Max speed so far is 30 MPH with 1/4 tank gas and one person (me). Sometimes RPM's go 9000+ and like nothing happens on the jet pump. No debris, no weeds, etc. Sometimes max speed is 15 MPH, very sporadic. Definitely seems like something is slipping between the engine and Jet Pump.

Any ideas??

Help!

I would think that you are getting cavitation. Probably from a bad carbon ring or seal. i'm just figuring this from looking through some other posts while looking for my own problem
